A NURSERY school closed by Ofsted over "safeguarding" issues is expected to re-open tomorrow.

The Griffin School in Castle Road, Salisbury, has been shut for a week after inspectors identified problems with its safeguarding policies.

Inspectors were due to visit the school today to decide whether it was ready to open again.

Manager Gill Taylor confirmed the nursery, breakfast club and after-school club would all be fully open from Wednesday.

In a note to parents, she said: "We are very pleased to announce that the nursery, breakfast club, and after school club will fully re-open tomorrow.

"Ofsted visited us today and confirmed that our paperwork procedures are now in order.

"We'd like to thank them and Wiltshire Safeguarding for working with us to help us get the Griffin back open at this soonest possible opportunity.

"We cannot thank you enough for your support during this period.

"It was very frustrating to not be able to provide your children with the education and childcare we so enjoy giving.

"The kind messages of support and offers of help you communicated to us on Facebook, over the phone, and in person were incredibly humbling, and we appreciated every single one of them.

"We are so glad we have such fantastic parents, and of course children.

"We're looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow or in the coming week.

"Please do not hesitate to contact us on Facebook, by telephone, or in person if you have any questions. "We are happy for you to inspect the Safeguarding paperwork we have produced if you wish do to so. Best wishes, Chris and Gill."
