CHILDREN at Harnham Infant School have been getting active as part of a sports week for charity.

Some of the older pupils put their skipping skills to the test in a "Big Jump Off", while the reception classes held their own mini-Olympics.

During the week of events there were free, healthy breakfasts on offer, as well as bike and scooter sessions. A rugby world cup tournament rounded off the sporty week.

The event was held to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. So far, more than £300 has been raised and money is still coming in.

Harnham Infant School sports leader Katy Brereton, who organised the sports week, said: “It’s been amazing to see all the children get involved.

"They’ve been practising their skipping every lunchtime and been having so much fun.”

The money raised will be used to fund research into the causes and treatmentof heart disease, lifesaving cardiac equipment, British Heart Foundations nurses and health education.
