The Captain General’s Baton has to be transported across 22 Bty RA leaving Portsmouth to pick up the Captain General’s baton from 29 Commando RA, en route to the Pyrenees.

22 Bty RA at the start on the Atlantic coast, after day one (130 miles) and at the highest point. Some sore bodies after two tough days in some difficult weather. Day two alone saw us climb 2.5 miles in total ascent. All are being pushed to the limit but are determined to finish in under 100 hours.
Unscheduled reveille at 0400hrs. Flooding and floating tents can never dampen our spirits. As soon as light we will simply ride away (with campsite refund)!
