THE boss of a pet company will be trekking 27 miles across the Peak District in 12 hours to help raise money for the charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

Susie Cooke is managing director of Paw Pals and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is the company's charity of the year.

It is a charity which is a centre of excellence in training dogs to alert deaf people to important sounds and danger signals in the home, work place and public buildings.

Susie said: "Such a worthwhile charity deserves a worthwhile fundraising event. I am not taking this 27 miles lightly, as I realise how 'hilly' the Peaks are. I will be training with my dogs from now until September to make sure I can complete the trek and not let any of my sponsors down."

The trek is taking place on September 5 and to make a donation visit her fundraising page at everyclick.com/pawpalstrekfestforhearingdogs.
