A MAN suffered a fractured jaw and broken nose following an assault believed to have taken place in Salisbury city centre.

The 22 year old man, who is not from the local area, was talking to a woman after visiting a pub in Fisherton Street between 2am and 2.30am on June 19, when it is alleged that he was assaulted by up to four men.

He was collected by an ambulance in the Greencroft area at 2.30am, and taken to Salisbury District Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.

As a result of the attack, the man sustained severe facial injuries, including a fractured jaw and broken nose.

Due to the severity of the assault, the victim cannot recall any details about the incident.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anybody who may be able to help identify those responsible and help build a picture of the man’s movements during the night.

PC Darren Penny said “This was a nasty attack, and as a result, the victim suffered serious injuries which required hospital treatment.

“We would like to hear from anybody who was in the Salisbury city centre area between the hours of 1.30am and 2.30am who may have seen this man, or the group of men involved in the assault. Any piece of information, no matter how small, may be crucial to our investigation.”
