SARUM Voices will be preforming Handel’s Messiah, directed by Ben Lamb on Saturday, August 8 at 7.30pm, St Martin’s Church, Salisbury.

They say that the simplest way to fill a building is to put on a concert of Handel’s Messiah. Certainly the last time that Sarum Voices performed Messiah at Sarum St Martin, it was both well-attended and well-received; 8th August is a more unusual time of year to put on this work with its obvious links to both Christmas and Easter, and as such will put this modern-day Messaianic prophecy to the test. With soloists taken from within the choir, and the smallest possible orchestra (single strings, trumpets, organ and timps), this performance promises a lightness of touch rarely heard in this oft-sung masterwork, so whether you are a visitor to Salisbury or one of our regular followers, don’t miss out!
