POLICE are renewing an appeal for information regarding an attempted robbery at the One Stop Shop, Bishopdown Farm, Salisbury.

Just before 7am on Monday, May 25, (Bank Holiday) a staff member had been about to let herself into the shop to start work when she was grabbed from behind by a man who demanded access to the shop.

A violent struggle broke out and the woman managed to break away.

A silver car drove past the shop on St Clements Way whilst the victim and the man were outside. The victim can be seen trying to wave at the car for assistance - Do you know who owns/was driving this car?

The suspect ran off in the direction of St Clement’s Way. The CCTV show a second man follow him along the road - Can you help identify this man?

The victim was left very shaken with cuts and bruises.

DC Chaplin from the Salisbury Priority Crime Team said: "The CCTV clearly shows the frightening experience that the victim was subjected to. She was very brave and we are determined to identify the man responsible and bring him to justice.

"The man is described as 30- 40 years old, he was very heavy set and wearing a black hooded coat, and trousers.

"I would like to hear from the driver of the silver car which travelled past the shop on St Clements Way during the incident as the occupants of the vehicle may be able to assist with our investigation.

Also, we need to identify the second man who walked behind the suspect after the attempted robbery along St Clements Way. This man could have vital details which could help us to find the offender.

I would ask the residents of Bishopdown Farm and anyone visting the area to think back to Bank Holiday Monday. (25th May 15) I appreciate that this was a while ago but the CCTV footage may jog people's memories.

"We believe that the suspect may have also been seen earlier that morning dressed all in black and wearing a black motorcycle helmet. We have a sighting of a man meeting this description outside the One Stop Shop at 05:30 am and later at 0630 am in Manning Close.

"We would like to hear from anyone has information."

If you have information please call 101 and ask to speak with Salisbury's Priority Crime Team or alternatively if you wish to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
