WILTSHIRE'S police commissioner claims to have had a "challenging but successful year".
Angus Macpherson published his third annual report today in which he trumpets a list of his successes.
According to the commissioner, they include maintaining local policing, despite big budget cuts, securing a “good” rating from the police watchdog and reducing overall crime and antisocial behaviour.
The report also sets out Mr Macpherson's aims for the coming year, which include hiring more special constables, using more "community resolutions", (i.e. not prosecuting petty criminals, but making them apologise to victims) and tackling the rise in serious crime, including violent and sexual offences.
Mr Macpherson, who earns £70,000 a year, also wants to tackle cyber crime, serious and organized crime and child sexual abuse.
