A FORDINGBRIDGE woman says she has caught the cycling bug after taking on a fundraising to challenge to help the life saving work of the air ambulance.

Sandra Hodgkyns completed a 300 mile cycle ride from London to Paris.

She said: “It’s a fantastic sense of achievement and all that training hard work and fund raising had paid off.”

Sandra raised more than £1,000 for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance with donations still coming in.

The ride finished on July 25 at the Eiffel Tower via the Champ Elysees and Arc de Triomphe — the day before the final of the Tour de France.

Now, Sandra has her sights set on her next cycling challenge.

“Next year I am riding from London to Holland to Brussels. I have the bug," she added. “Once again, thank you to all those people who help support me, including my husband who had to drive to London to drop me with my bike and to collect me and my son for sending me text support messages.”
