THE Tidworth 10k and 3k is being held a month earlier this year - in October - to take advantage of the better seasonal weather.
The event which is run by 60 soldiers from The Royal Tank Regiment raises funds for the Stars Appeal.
Leading the organisation Major Timothy Wight-Boycott said: “We’ll set up a day before with tents and other paraphernalia and run a rehearsal.
“Soldiers will be marking the route, in charge of car parking and providing security.
“The 10k is a relatively arduous route and entirely rural with good views of Salisbury Plain.
“The event raises money for a really good cause.
“Lots of our families use the hospital, my daughter was born there so it’s good to be able to help.”
The Tidworth 10k and 3k fun run is on October 4.
Both routes start and finish at Tedworth House with the 10k going through the army camp before heading off on to Salisbury Plain. Runners can register online at starsappeal.org.
