CONSULTANT breast cancer surgeons at Salisbury Hospital and joint chairmen of the Stars Appeal Breast Cancer Unit Campaign, Vicky Brown and Anna Aertssen, said they were thrilled to reach the target to build the new Breast Unit.

They said: “The thing that has touched us most is the support from the community.

“This means so much to us and will continue to spur us on to make the unit better and better in the future.

“The opportunity to have all our outpatient services in one dedicated area will make a massive difference to us and our patients.

“We always aim for the highest standard of service we can, but now that this will be in a purposebuilt environment it will make all the difference.”

They added: “We are delighted that people are continuing the fundraising which will help improve the unit.

“We would like to extend a huge vote of thanks to everyone involved in fundraising and donating.

“This is from all the staff, but also from the thousands of patients who will benefit.”
