A GANG attacked and robbed a teenager in a Salisbury underpass, stealing his trainers and mobile phone.

Four men, believed to be in their mid 20s, punched the victim in the face, knocking him to the floor, and kicked him repeatedly in the ribs.

He was walking in the underpass from Exeter Street Roundabout to Churchill Gardens at 6.30pm on August 14 when the robbery happened.

The gang, who wore jeans and hoodies, stole the 19-year-old London man's white Reebok Classic trainers and white iPhone 4S, before running off into Churchill Gardens.

The victim suffered facial injuries and bruised ribs and was taken to Salisbury District Hospital for treatment.

Police believe it is an isolated incident and officers are following a number of leads and conducting enquiries in the area. Analysis of CCTV is ongoing and police wish to speak with anyone in the area at the time.
