BOURNE Valley Scouts have received a boost which will go towards updating the groups camping equipment.

The Nisa store in Porton presented the scout group with a cheque for £700, which was handed over by store manager Tony Hobbs.

Nisa put 1p of every sale of its heritage product range into a community fund. Local charities and community groups were invited to apply for funding.

The group scout leader Shirley Moores said: “ The plan is to spend the money on updating our camping equipment and buying some more advanced equipment that will benefit the whole District."

The group says this money will go a long way to benefit not only Bourne Valley Scout group but the whole Salisbury District and is a great example of communities and scouting working together for the greater good.
