THRILLING husky-drawn sled rides are on the festive menu at Moors Valley Country Park this Christmas.

Team GB musher Vickie Pullin will bring huskies Yukon, Delta, North and Elmer to the park on December 12 and 13.

Visitors can meet the dogs, learn how they are looked after and take a ride on a sled. Those taking part must be over six and booking is essential.

Vicky and the dogs have recently returned from the World Championships in Germany where she was the first British musher to compete in the four dog mass team start.

The huskies are not the only attraction at Moors Valley this Christmas with a host of events planned to keep the whole family entertained.

Christmas Jumper Sundays are certain to bring smiles to the faces of visitors on December 6, 13 and 20 and the Christmas tree shop and Christmas craft market will be open from Saturday December 5.

The Forest Forge Theatre Company brings its seasonal offering of Hansel and Gretel to the Visitor Centre on Tuesday December 8. Hansel and Gretel must work together to find their way home after becoming lost in the woods.

This interactive adventure includes an encounter with a tiny witch and a beautiful house made of sweets. Suitable for all ages, doors open at 5.30pm for a 6pm start.

Woodland trails will be available as ever and there will be Santa Special train rides, although they are already sold out..

There will also be festive workshops ranging from willow weaving, making wreaths and table decorations, clay decorations and a chocolate workshop.
