SPINE-CHILLING tales of hauntings and ghost hunting had pupils at Bishops Wordworth's School gripped.
Bestselling author Jonathan Stroud visited the school on Friday 13 to talk about his book series Lockwood and Co, which follows a detective agency that solve cases of hauntings.
He spoke to the year 7 and 8 pupils about how he got into writing and showed them the first book he made when he eight.
One pupil got the chance to transform himself into a ghost hunter.
He also got pupils to think about the features of ghost stories
he then sketched out the different scenarios they came up with.
Head of English Craig Ennew said it was an "enjoyable and worthwhile" experience for pupils.
He said: "The school looks forward to doing something similar in the future."
