SALISBURY FC will rub shoulders with another of last season's FA Vase semi-finalists in the third round.

Whites will make the trip north of the county to Highworth Town, which is one of 32 ties.

The two, who both got through Saturday's second round clashes, battle for a place in the fourth round on December 12 (3pm).

Whites overcame a persistent battle from Cornish outfit AFC St Austell 4-0, while Highworth were 2-1 victors over Odd Down.

Highworth ply their trade at step five, like Whites, and are currently fifth in the Hellenic Premier Division.

John Fisher's men narrowly missed out on a trip to Wembley in May this year after being beaten by eventual winners North Shields in the last four, losing 3-0 on aggregate.

"It's a tough draw," said boss Steve Claridge, who plans to go and watch Highworth in the next week or so.

"It's a real advantage for them being at home as they are used to their pitch. It will be tough to deal with.

"But I don't want us to play any differently and whatever we do will be right as we run this as a professional club."

A crowd of 854 watched his side brush aside St Austell thanks to goals from Brandon Mundy, Danny Young, Kane O'Keefe and Taurean Roberts.

He's hoping that a large cluster of those supporters will travel to the Elms Recreation Ground next month, a place his side played and beat Wroughton in the first round of the Wiltshire Senior Cup 6-1.

"I was really pleased with Saturday's attendance, especially when Eastleigh were at home to Grimsby, which was third v fourth in the National League.

"I see no reason why 400/500 cannot make the trip. I don't think we could have had a tougher draw against another of last season's semi-finalists."

"What I will say to those who haven't already watched us, come and try it."

The draw was made at Wembley headquarters today and the winner of the tie will bank £1,300 in prize money.
