AMESBURY Primary School has been graded as ‘outstanding’ this week.

The SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) report highlighted points such as the development of the school’s nurture centre to meet the needs of vulnerable pupils, the “excellent” relationships which exist within the school and the school’s distinctive Christian values.

The report stated: “The distinctiveness and effectiveness of Amesbury Primary as a Church of England school are outstanding”. It also commented on the outstanding behaviour of the school’s pupils.

Focusing on pupils’ moral and social development, the report emphasised the school’s values of responsibility and ambition.

Headteacher Yvonne Morrison said: “Trust and respect underpin the excellent relationships in the school. The whole school community deserve this outcome as it has worked hard to be a fully inclusive Christian school where every child matters”.
