PLANS for a new 420-place primary school in Larkhill were unveiled last week.
The relocated St Michael's primary school, Figheldean, which includes a nursery, will be built on MOD land as part of the Army rebasing.
Claire Tunnicliffe, chair of governors at the school, said: "We've been on this journey for what seems like a very long time. I am delighted that we're at a stage where we can see what the future school will look like. The new school will be sited with a wonderful vista; our children can't help but be inspired by the surrounding landscape."
As part of the rebasing around 1,200 extra school places will be needed — of which 800 will be of primary school age. A planning decision is expected by the end of the year with completion expected by September 2018.
