THE wizarding world of Harry Potter cast its spell on the city.
Salisbury Waterstones in High Street held a special book night last Thursday, celebrating the magical tales and characters created by J K Rowling.
Fans of the book got the chance to dress up as wizards and their favourite Harry Potter characters for the evening with their own magic wands.
"It was really successful," said event organiser Jo Boyles.
There were plenty of magical activities including wand making spell classes, a treasure hunt and quiz, and a pin the tail on Dobby the house elf game.
This year's event, which was attended by about 60 people, followed on from the success of last year's book night.
Jo hopes to grow the book night and says it will be "bigger and better" next year.
Waterstones will be hosting other events throughout the year.
The store will be running a weekly toddler group which starts on Friday at 10am.
During half term next week it will be celebrating the world of David Walliams' books with a special display.
