DEVELOPERS have resubmitted an application to turn a former city centre bar and lap dancing club into housing less than two months after the same designs were rejected by planners.
The design for ten modern apartments and two shops at the former White Rooms on Milford Street were branded as “awful”
by one councillor during a planning meeting.
Meanwhile another councillor said the metal outer structure looked “cheap” and “tacky”.
It was rejected by just one vote on the Southern Area Planning Committee in December with concerns also raised over drainage and waste collection.
In submitting the new application, known as the Old Brewery, agents Savills say they have addressed those fears with better water harvesting and private waste collection through a management company.
Yet the copper cladding and glass buildings, which were lambasted by some on the committee, remain the same as before.
