THE Return to Practice course is for any nurse whose registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council has lapsed.

Salisbury District Hospital restarted its three-month course last year and is running two intakes a year, in September and March.

The hospital works with Bournemouth University to provide the programme which includes six study days and a minimum of 150 clinical hours.

Health Education England Wessex currently pays the £800 tuition fees and halfway through the course students receive a £500 bursary.

The application process starts three months in advance and the next intake is in September.

The trust uses the NHS jobs website to advertise placement opportunities.

Juliet Borwell, the lead for learning environments and professional development, said: “We find a clinical placement for students at the trust and they have support from one of the registered nurses to achieve their learning outcomes.

“People who want to make enquiries can get in touch directly with me – I can give them individual advice.”
