THE Environment Agency has issued an amber warning for possible flooding along the River Avon after heavy rain today.

The stretch between Salisbury and Upavon has been highlighted as being in danger.

A statement on the Environment Agency website said: "Due to heavy rainfall overnight and this morning, water levels in the River Avon and tributaries between Upavon and Salisbury are rising. The rainfall is forecast to continue until about 6.00pm with another 6mm of rain expected."
