SHOPPERS are being asked to help make a dog's dinner after supplies at the Dogs Trust rehoming centre reached an all-time low.
The Newton Tony centre, which cares for and rehomes hundreds of stray and abandoned dogs every year, relies on donations of dog food but the cupboard is starting to look bare.
Centre manager, Alison Rodger, said: "We provide a safe haven for up to 70 dogs at a time. We rely heavily on support from the local community for volunteers and on donations of blankets, dog toys and most importantly food.
"We have never run out of donated food before but we are currently running quite low. We would be really grateful if any dog lovers could pick up a few tins of dog food on their next shop and drop them off at the centre."
