A LORRY has spilled 150 litres of hydraulic oil near a nature reserve on the A36.
It happened at a lay-by to the east of Steeple Langford, near Hanging Langford Lakes.
The road is partially blocked while large amounts of sand are spread on the surface to soak up the oil.
Firefighters were called at 10.23 this morning.
Highway maintenance crews are on the scene and the clean-up operation is said to be making steady progress.
The Environment Agency said the spill had not entered any of the nearby waterways.
