SATURDAY will mark the start of Salisbury's Save the Children week.
The international charity, that helps disadvantaged children in the UK and more than 100 countries worldwide, is marking Save the Children week on Saturday (April 30).
Supporters will be fundraising by offering home-made cakes and scones, as well as tea and coffee to anyone who drops in to St Thomas's Church between 10am and 12.30pm on the day.
Su Lycett, the organiser of the event, said: "The people of Salisbury have generously supported Save the Children for almost 70 years, since the branch was founded, so we are looking forward to a successful morning on Saturday.
"People may not realise how Save the Children funds are used but, for instance, £3 can buy a mosquito net or a vulnerable child, and £5 can help vaccinate 100 children against preventable diseases".
