A QUANTITY of diamond jewellery and personal documents, including birth certificates and passports, were stolen from a bungalow in Allington. 

Police say the offender(s) broke in through a back window of the property on the A338 Tidworth Road. 

It happened between 8.30am and 5.40pm yesterday (Tuesday). 

The jewellery is described as a gold 9 carat engagement ring with sapphire surrounded by diamonds, an 1800's gold ring with two diamonds surrounding one sapphire, a gold ring with diamonds in an 'S' shape and Swarovski earrings.

A steel metal locked box containing birth certificates, two passports, marriage certificates, packs of old coins and sovereigns was also stolen.

PC Jeanette Brownsea said: "This incident has been very upsetting and distressing for the victims who have had several sentimental items stolen.

"Enquiries are ongoing at this stage, and I would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard any suspicious activity in the area yesterday to get in touch immediately."
