A YOUNG college graduate is on cloud nine after landing his first ever job — as an airline pilot.

High-flying Harry Champion, from Ford, said he was “beyond over the moon” after qualifying at the tender age of 20.

“I feel very proud and rather nervous to be starting the job,” he said.

“I’m just so happy to be going into such a professional environment at such a young age.”

The former Peter Symonds College student joined Flight Training Europe Jerez at 18, alongside many fellow students with university degrees or several years’ experience.

The former Air Cadet with 1010 Squadron at Old Sarum aced tests in maths, physics and spatial awareness.

For as long as he can remember, Harry has been interested in flying and had a dream of entering aviation. As a cadet he would often visit Heathrow to pursue his other interest, aircraft photography.

Harry has now had a job offer from Norwegian Airlines and starts his training on the Boeing 737 in August, when he will become one of the firm’s youngest pilots.
