Fourteen Brownies from the 10th Salisbury pack gathered at the Bourne Community Farm over the weekend to say fond farewells and share in one more adventure with their Brown Owl, Diana Cameron, who is retiring after leading the group for the past thirty years.

Enjoying a walk through the meadows, the Brownies came face to face with highland cattle, saddleback pigs and cornered an escaped chicken before returning it to the free range pens.

"It's been a joy to see the girls grow in confidence over the years," Diana said.

"I've loved taking part in all the craft work with the Brownies, encouraging them to create gifts for mothers day and decorations for Christmas, as well as take them on summer pack holidays to the New Forest for outdoor adventures and walks."

"Thank you to everybody, it's been wonderful."

The very active unit, based on the Castle Road, rounded off the afternoon with cream scones and jam, before presenting gifts of rose plants, bunches of flowers and a solar powered owl light. New leader 'Snowy Owl' Zoe Morgan said: "Diana has been a wonderful leader and an inspiration to hundreds of Brownies over the years.

"We aim to continue with her sense of fun and are busy planning our Rio Olympics 2016 themed summer."
