A SALISBURY mum who is battling multiple sclerosis (MS) is calling on the community to help her raise £20,000 for life-changing treatment abroad.

Becci Tenty suffers with relapsing remitting MS and says her life is becoming more of a battle each day as her condition worsens.

She has started a crowdfunding campaign to raise the money for steam cell treatment in Russia.

"My every day is becoming so much harder with my walking to simple tasks like putting the washing on — my body needs to rest for recovery periods before I can do the next thing," said the 41-year-old.

"My legs are painful all the time and my sleep is disrupted due to spasms in my legs. I live off of prescribed medication to ease the spasms which are getting worse. I walk with a stick and have had a lot of falls. Stairs are a no go for me.

"Life is becoming more and more of a battle each day."

Over the 14 years Becci has had MS she says she has been on various disease modifying drugs. But she hopes the 12-day stem cell programme will help repair the damage caused by MS and halt the disease.

"This treatment could give me the chance for my daughter and I to enjoy life together. To stop having to struggle. For my daughter not to keep worrying about me. And I would love to go back to work," she said.

"If I don't get the treatment I am scared what will happen to me and what tomorrow will bring. I don't want to become a burden to anyone. I can feel a lot of my independence is slipping away.

"I have bought up my daughter as a single mum since she was two. We have been through so much, long hospital stays for me and the everyday trials of living with MS but I would love the chance to get this treatment. It would change our lives."

There is currently no cure for MS.

Becci said: "Nobody knows what the future holds but I know I am living with a illness I can feel taking away my quality of life and stem cell could be the answer to a brighter less scary future for my daughter and I, and is my only hope."
