PATIENCE paid off for Salisbury resident Michael Maidment who finally managed to capture pictures of an otter swimming in the River Avon.
These pictures were shot at Churchill Gardens.
Michael says he always carries a camera with him when walking the dog and was delighted to catch sight of the otter.
He said it was "good fun" trying to catch the otters on camera.
An otter was previously filmed by Kieron Smith in Churchill Gardens back in March. And Wiltshire Wildlife Trust said there have been several sightings of them swimming in the lakes at its Langford Lakes reserve near Wilton.
Any wildlife sightings can be reported to the Wiltshire & Swindon Biological Records Centre which can be done through the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust's website at wiltshirewildlife.org
