Local mountaineering hero Jo Bradshaw will be giving a lecture in the Cotswold Outdoor shop on Thursday 28th July.
The adventurer, who has scaled many of the planet's highest peaks, was airlifted off Everest in April 2015 when an earthquake struck the mountain, causing an avalanche which destroyed the ladders at the Khumbu icefall.
Undeterred by this setback, Jo decided once more to scale the world's highest mountain, and finally achieved the feat earlier in 2016.
Jo will be in the store to give a first hand account of life as a mountaineer and the thrills and challenges that come with it.
Tickets for the event are £10 and can be booked by contacting the store directly.
All proceeds will go towards the children's charity Place2Be.
The lecture will start at 7PM at the Cotswold Outdoor shop on Queen Street.
