THE Alderholt Giant awoke from his slumber and the village was filled with the beating of drums this morning (Saturday).
It was all part of the St James' Church Festival. The special giant procession attracted the crowds who came out to watch the spectacle.
The procession started from St James' School and made its way up the hill to St James' Church ready for the start of the festival fete.
The church itself was specially decorated for the occasion with a flower display centred around the theme majesty. Many of the designs were inspired by the queen - there was even a floral crown.
