POLICE raided a cannabis factory at a Salisbury home today.

Officers seized 37 mature plants from a property in Dairy House Bridge this afternoon.

Other class B drugs were also recovered, alongside laptops and cash.

A Salisbury man, aged 36, was arrested on suspicion of production of a Class B drug and possession with intent to supply.

He is currently in custody at Melksham Police Station.

PC Tracey Holloway said: “Following enquiries we carried out a search of a property and located a number of large cannabis plants.

"The success of the operation today will cause some disruption in the supply of illegal substances in the local area.

"This positive outcome is just part of our ongoing determination to tackle illegal drug use in Salisbury, the use of such drugs can be a precursor to other types of crime including anti-social behaviour and have a negative effect on communities.

"We will continue to take action against anyone who is found to be concerned in the supply of these drugs."

Anyone who has information about illegal drug use in their area is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101.
