NIAMH McGrady and Will Featherstone will star as Olivia and Dan in the national tour of Emlyn Williams’s psychological thriller, Night Must Fall, which comes to Salisbury.
Directed by Luke Sheppard, the production is at Salisbury Playhouse from Tuesday, September 6 to Saturday 24.
They join Gwen Taylor as Mrs Bramson and Daragh O’Malley as Inspector Belsize, along with Alasdair Buchan as Hubert, Anne Odeke as Nurse Libby, Mandi Symonds as Mrs Terence and Melissa Vaughan as Dora.
Niamh McGrady is best known for playing Mary-Claire Carter in BBC’s Holby City and PC Danielle Ferrington in three series of BBC’s The Fall.
Featherstone’s screen credits including Fresh Meat, Endeavour, Ashes to Ashes and Midsomer Murders, as well as the forthcoming feature film A United Kingdom.
Emlyn Williams wrote Night Must Fall in 1935 and played the lead role in the first stage production. The play was noted for its exploration of the killer’s complex psychological state, a step forward for its genre.
Night Must Fall was the first production to be performed in the former Garrison Theatre on Fisherton Street in Salisbury, a predecessor of Salisbury Playhouse.
Night Must Fall is suitable for over 12’s.
