LAVERSTOCK and Ford came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw against city rivals Salisbury FC in their final pre-season friendly, writes Thom Belk.

Two quickfire goals from Steve Claridge's charges gave the Whites a comfortable half-time lead.

On 25 minutes Steve Walker won a free kick on the halfway line and he headed home the resulting set piece.

Veteran striker Robbie Matthews doubled the visitors' lead moments later with a delightful lob over Stock’s keeper.

Seb Dawes, who until last week had been trialling with the Old Sarum club, nearly pulled a goal back when he fired across goal from the left flank, narrowly missing the target.

Soon after, Walker came to Whites' rescue by clearing Christian Hurst's shot off the line.

But after the break, Lavvy's pressure paid off as Adam Jones reduced the deficit.

Then a Dawes cross found Adam Bourner in the box who volleyed home for the equaliser.

Both teams did enough to muster the winner none more so than Eddie Perrett who won a penalty kick which was saved.

Whites are back in action tomorrow in their penultimate pre-season friendly with Cirencester Town (3pm).

Laverstock kickstart their Sydenhams Wessex League Division One campaign on Tuesday night at home to Pewsey Vale (7.45pm).
