THE first in a series of free public events in Salisbury’s market square takes place this evening (Friday).
Music Uncovered, a collaboration between the Business Improvement District (BID) and Salisbury Arts Centre, is an evening of music with three bands, starting at 5pm and running to 8pm.
Headlining the event and performing from 7pm to 8pm, Matuki are a 10-piece Afro-Beat/Afro-Funk band based in Bristol.
Fusing traditional afro-beat sounds with some heavy doses of contemporary urban funk, they are led by master drummer and lead vocalist, Abraham Ebou.
They released their debut album, Injo, in March this year.
Dorset band The Brittz perform from 6pm to 6.45pm.
Fronted by X-Factor contestant Jamie Eldridge, the young four-piece band play well-known covers from classic oldies to modern hits.
Emma and the Professor will perform from 5pm to 5.45pm.
They are both a musical duo and a real life couple.
Emma Heath plays guitar and sings and the duo are carried by Mark Davies’ rhythmic, animated and uplifting bodhran playing.
Entry is free, all ages are welcome but please bring a seat if you need one.
