A WOMAN has been charged with a string of offences after an armed robbery yesterday.

Staff at the One Stop Shop in Bishopdown were threatened at knifepoint by a woman demanding money.

The woman left the store in Barrington Road with an amount of cash.

Abbie Littler, aged 23, from Bishopdown, has been charged with robbery, possession of an offensive weapon, assaulting apolice officer, and a racially aggravated public order offence.

Littler is also charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and supply of a controlled substance (class A).

She was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court today.

Police received a 999 call just after 2pm yesterday.

And officers were quickly on scene and within six minutes had located and arrested the suspect.

DS Mike Standing said: “Fortunately no one was injured but the staff members were understandably very shocked.

"This quick response and local knowledge of the officers who were first on the scene resulted in the swift arrest and recovery of a knife believed to have been used in the robbery.

"Officers remain in the area conducting enquiries and an investigation is underway.”
