SALISBURY'S hidden gems are the focus of a new photographic competition launched yesterday.

But forget the standard shot of the spire, Salisbury Business Improvement District (BID) wants to showcase some of the city's less well-known beauty spots.

Its Instagram competition #SecretSalisbury will see a winner picked at random, so you don't need to be a super snapper to enter.

BID marketing co-ordinator Kat Salmon said: "We just want to see those places that are special to you, or an alternative angle of a popular spot."
