A CELEBRATION of world cultures and languages was enjoyed by pupils at Manor Fields Primary School.

As part of the European Day of Languages each class were given a country and dressed up in the colours of its national flag.

The children were also able to learn about the culture of their chosen country, which focused on countries from around the world not just in Europe.

Pupils got to take part in a range of activities including food tasting, flag making and learning about the music of their chosen countries. And in the afternoon the classes gathered for an assembly to share what they had learnt about their countries.

The pupils also got a chance to do some Greek dancing and talked to children in Spain and Italy over Skype.

The European Day of Languages is celebrated by the school every year.

Year 6 teacher Grace Griffiths, said: "It really is a highlight in the calendar at Manor Fields and the children really look forward to it. It is such an exciting day and enjoyable for all."
