DUE to popular demand another performance of Tosca has been added to the Celebrate Voice 2016 programme.

Salisbury music lovers have been quick off the mark this year to secure their tickets for the festival opera, which had all sold out. Another night has now been added to the run of performances and will take place on Saturday, October 29.

Tosca features leading British and international singers, with Royal Opera House director Julia Burbach staging the performance and former English National Opera conductor and festival favourite, Phillip Thomas as Music Director.

The children’s chorus feature young people from nine to 16 from Salisbury schools alongside a professional adult chorus.

Godolphin’s singing star Alice Henery has been given the opportunity to join the pro chorus.

Organisers say the festival’s cabaret and jazz nights also look likely to sell out, featuring Fascinating Aida’s Dillie Keane and jazz legend Ian Shaw.

BBC Folk Award-winner Sam Kelly appears at Salisbury Arts Centre on October 27, a cappella with a double bill of leading British vocal ensembles, Papagena and Blossom Street (October 25).

The Celebrate Voice performances take place in the Medieval Hall, Cathedral Close, the Salisbury Arts Centre, and Godolphin School, and discounts are available for those booking tickets for two or more events.

Celebrate Voice starts on Friday and runs until Sunday, October 30.
