A PAINTBALL champion nicknamed the 'Toothless Weasel' who secretly filmed two naked women on CCTV then shared the footage with colleagues was handed an eight-month suspended sentence today.

Philip Southgate used the CCTV system at his car window tinting business to record his two unsuspecting victims, one of whom was an aspiring glamour model.

The married 42-year-old, who has represented Great Britain at paintball, was found guilty of two counts of voyeurism in a trial at Salisbury Crown Court.

The court heard that Southgate took advantage of his first victim’s dream of becoming a glamour model and recorded her getting changed for a photoshoot at his garage in Salisbury.

His victim had agreed to try on tight-fitting tops and hot pants branded with the logo of his window tinting firm TINTINIT for the shoot in June 2015.

According to Southgate, the woman said that she wasn't bothered about the camera, because she was "going to get her breasts out anyway".

But prosecutor Colin Meeke told the court: "On seeing the footage of the CCTV on the screen, you switched off the monitor and reassured her that the system was in fact switched off.

"But this was a lie, and the camera was still functioning."

Southgate, of Cholderton, then showed footage of the woman getting changed to a group of men on his computer.

The court heard that Southgate was having an affair with his other victim when they had consensual sex in his workshop in December 2014.

She said: "There was some flirting and I remember saying we can't do this, as we were both in relationships.

"There was a moment in the room between us, and then we got intimate and that was the first time it was in the workshop."

Southgate assured the woman at the time that the CCTV in his workshop was switched off.

But he messaged her a few days later saying “I have a confession to make” and admitted the camera had been running the whole time.

He then sent her a copy of the video and she told him to delete it, but he did not and showed the footage to his apprentice.

Southgate was sentenced today at Bristol Crown Court to eight months in prison suspended for two years.

Sentencing, Recorder Judge Mr Smith said: “You knew very well the CCTV cameras were operating and covering that area of the office. There was clearly a sense of plan.

“Both ladies have been affected by what you did to them.

“The images you made were recorded and were able to be viewed and indeed were viewed by others.

“It’s quite clear that in a sexual nature you do have severe difficulty in controlling yourself.”

Rufus Taylor, defending, said: “His wife has stood by him through thick and thin. He has good character references.

“He needs help from the probation services to deal with this ridiculous sexualised behaviour.”

Southgate was also handed a three-month electrically monitored curfew from 9pm to 6am and ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register.
