The police helicopter was scrambled and two men were later caught. A 22-year-old man from Salisbury was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and theft of a vehicle.
A 25-year-old man from Andover was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, theft of a vehicle, threatening to damage property, threats to kill and using threatening, abusive, insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
Both have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Any witnesses to the incident should call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
