THE 2016 Poppy Appeal has been launched in Salisbury.
Members of the Royal British Legion Salisbury branch were joined by the mayor, Cllr Derek Brown, and representatives from the military for a special ceremony at the Old George Mall this morning to mark the start of fundraising.
Music was provided by the Salisbury City Band of the Royal British Legion who entertained shoppers as volunteers collected donations for the appeal.
The president of the Salisbury branch of the Royal British Legion, Bob Giddings, hopes to raise even more money for the RBL than last year's Poppy Appeal in the city.
In the coming weeks there will be collections in Market Square on November 5 and around the city on November 9, 11, and 12.
