A MOTORCYCLIST has died after a crash on the A36 junction with Old Southampton Road in Whiteparish.
The fatal crash happened yesterday at about 7.30pm. It was between a motorcycle and a VW Polo.
Police say CPR was carried out but the female motorcyclist died at the scene.
The woman driver of the Polo sustained minor injuries but was very shocked and was taken to Salisbury District Hospital as a precaution.
The road was closed until shortly after midnight for specialist officers to conduct examination of the scene.
The motorcyclist's next of kin have been informed but formal identification has not yet taken place.
Two fire crews from Salisbury were also in attendance.
