A PENSIONER has been taken to hospital after a collision with a bus.
Ambulance crews were called to Catherine Street in Salisbury to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a bus at about 10.51am this morning (Monday).
The 85-year-old man has been taken to Salisbury District Hospital with a suspected broken hip.
Police are investigating the incident.
Alex Chutter, Salisbury Reds operations manager, said: "I am aware of a minor collision at New Canal yesterday morning, involving a Salisbury Reds vehicle and a pedestrian.
“My understanding is that the bus was pulling into a stop at low speed and was already ahead of the pedestrian when the incident occurred.
"The pedestrian sustained injuries after falling back onto the pavement, and was taken to Salisbury District Hospital.
"We are monitoring their condition closely and wish them well in their recovery.
“Our team is carrying out a full investigation to establish the circumstances behind the event. We are also helping the police as they carry out their own enquiries.”
