FANS of Star Wars will be descending on Fordingbridge for a weekend of activities.

The event at the Town Hall has been organised by local retailer All The Cool Stuff.

Saturday's event is a family fun day featuring the Phoenix Command, who showcase their Star Wars themed costumes and props. It runs from 10am to 5pm.

Other special guests include Star Wars artist and illustrator JAKe and inventor/YouTube star James Bruton from XRobots.

The Star Wars fun continues into Sunday, 11am to 4pm, with the Farthest From Toy Collectors Fair, which is a mecca for fans of the toys from the original releases in the 1970's and 80's.

It will also include a charity toy auction to raise money for the Piam Brown ward at Southampton General Hospital.

Last December's event managed to raise more than £1,230 for cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

Dave Tree, of All The Cool Stuff, said: "There is always huge excitement whenever we hold these events, which not only is great for Fordingbridge, but also raises money for great causes and with the next Star Wars film to be released in a few days, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, interest is at an all time high, with young and old fans alike."
