CHILDREN at Fordingbridge Junior School got into gear to learn all about cycling and staying safe on the roads.
The Year 5 pupils took part in a week of activities as part of the national cycling scheme Bikeability.
As part of the scheme the pupils honed their cycling skills as well as learning all about difference aspects of cycling such as road safety and bike maintenance.
The children were able to put the skills they learnt into practice when they ventured out onto the surrounding roads where they had to manage the road junctions safely and use the signalling and manoeuvring skills they were taught.
It proved a particular success for two of the children at the school who were unable to ride at the start of the week but by the end had mastered it and were successful and safely riding their bikes.
