VISITORS enjoyed a jam-packed morning of fun at Horatio's Garden in Salisbury today (Thursday).

Joining preserve expert Vivien Lloyd, they were able to discover the secrets of creating the perfect, delicious marmalade in the surroundings of the charity's Garden Room.

Vivien is a leading authority on the preservation of fruit and vegetables and author of First Preserves. She is also a WI preserves judge and teaches at cookery schools across the UK.

Her preserves have won prestigious competitions, notably the Marmalade Awards and Fortnum and Mason's Chutney Challenge.

Horatio's Garden trustee Victoria Holton said: "It was a really enjoyable morning for patients and supporters, learning the art of making the perfect marmalade. We’re so grateful to Vivien Lloyd for sharing her secrets.

"The event raised £500 which will help to fund further events and activities for patients in Horatio’s Garden, Salisbury.” 

Horatio’s Garden is a charity that builds and cares for gardens created for patients who face long stays at NHS spinal injury centres following life-changing injuries.
