SALISBURY Playhouse is helping to make a trip to the theatre more affordable with the introduction of a series of Pay What You Can nights.

It starts with Chris Chibnall’s comedy Worst Wedding Ever on Wednesday, February 8.

Anyone is welcome to attend the performance and pay whatever they can – 50p, £1, £5 – however much they can affordwill be the price of the ticket.

Tim Croall, the head of communications and sales, said: “We’re proud that coming to see a production at Salisbury Playhouse is already very reasonable but the introduction of this scheme means even more people will be able to enjoy our productions here.”

Other Pay What You Can nights in the spring season include the UK tour of Hattie Naylor’s As the Crow Flies on March 30 at 7.30pm and local writer Barney Norris’ new play Echo’s End on April 5, 7.30pm.

Those interested in attending a Pay What You Can night should print out and complete a form at salisburyplayhouse.com and bring it to the ticket office on the day of the performance, along with however much money they would like to pay.

Alternatively, a form can be collected from the ticket office.

Pay What You Can tickets will be available on the day of the performance in person only and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
