EXPERIENCE a night of Americana with musical duo The Grahams.

The Grahams, Alyssa and Doug Graham, have spent nearly their entire lives exploring music together. They have been friends since she was seven and he was nine and became a couple in their teens and then husband and wife.

They will be performing at Salisbury Arts Centre on Friday, March 3, 8pm.

As part of the gig, there will be a screening of Rattle the Hocks, a film following the couple as they travelled the US in the summer of 2014, arriving at Memphis with songs inspired by their adventures and experiences.

The film is a loose, but intimate look at The Grahams and is narrated by both Alyssa and Doug.

Alyssa says: “There’s a special connection between American folk music and the railroad that has no parallel elsewhere in the world.” She talks about the band’s own goals in travelling by train: “We’re looking for the modern echo of older sounds.”

The film is about the band, about the rails, and about the land and towns they visited, but mostly it is about the music.

Tickets are £12 and £10 for concessions, available from the box office by calling 01722 321744 or at salisburyartscentre.co.uk.
